It is true for list managers as well. Make it easy for people to leave your email lists. Look at what Woot is doing with a big button on top.
Don't make your subscribers rely on Google's unsubscribe button. Take charge and add easy way to unsubscribe and make it prominent. You could see a drop in subscribers but that is not necessarily a bad thing. Good luck!
