Even the New York Times struggles to get a balanced report on Egypt.
Hillary Clinton’s nuanced iteration of Netanyahu went like this: “Revolutions have overthrown dictators in the name of democracy, only to see the process hijacked by new autocrats.”
Will Egypt fall into the hands of the Muslim Brotherhood? Possibly. Should that be a reason for the US to show hesitation and inaction? Absolutely not. Is it risky to take sides? Yes. But the risks have rewards. Inaction, on the other hand, is a sure bet. A sure bet that is bound to lose.
