Is Samsung testing its influence on carriers? Reuters quotes Samsung co-chief executive J K Shin as saying that an LTE-Advanced Samsung Galaxy S4 will be available in South Korea "as early as this month" adding that "Samsung was in talks with several overseas carriers to take the phone". The Verge reports both AT&T and Verizon have plans to start deploying LTE-A some time this year.
Since LTE-Advanced phones should work on existing LTE networks, it will be interesting to see how much influence Samsung can put on US carriers to adopt the LTE-A Galaxy 4. How will carriers up-sell a device that has an advantage that does not exist on their networks yet ?This will be interesting.
