Thoughts about silverlight

I resisted installing Silverlight for a long time ago. It was, in my opinion, too little and too late to the party. Had it come out when Macromedia still ran things, it would be different.  However, this was not the case.

From Wikipedia:

According to statowl.com, Microsoft Silverlight has a penetration of 64.16% on May 2011.

which sounds promising, right? However, look at the adoption

 As of 26 August 2011, 0.3% sites are using Silverlight

 which does not look like a big deal after all. Perhaps it is a good thing that silverlight is dying.
