With the partially successful demonstration of the 101 program out of the way, the project has had the opportunity to take some time in the back seat. As you know from the text box on the right, the project is dedicated to all things beautiful, not just particular technologies (and definitely not to particular vendors). We have been brainstorming for a while and I believe it is time for us to be switching gears.
I agree that database management has been the core of the project's operations for the last quarter. However, we need to keep our eyes open for the long term. We need to change. We will have new topics to discuss during Q2 of 2010. In no particular order, our three top topics are:
- Real Analysis
- Probability and Statistics
- Object-oriented programming
I realize that these are drastic changes. One of the things that is not changing with this announcement is the focus of our investigations. We will still be studying things with an academic and not a profit-seeking perspective. We will be working to find answers without any particular emphasis on return over investment of time or money. With over a third a way into the quarter, we will not be able to accomplish much during the quarter, however, we plan to use the knowledge from here when we revisit the topics in the first and second quarters of 2011.
Although we are focusing on Q2 for now, we need to plan for Q3 as well. Possible topics for Q3 include:
- Differential equations
- Abstract algebra

You can follow us here or on wordpress. Although not everything will be identical, I will try to make sure that at least most of the major posts are mirrored so that they appear in both places.
PS: The bite-sixed updates will resume shortly as well.
